I'm trying to find a way to adjust the monitoring properties for Certificate Expiration. I'm running Exchange 2013 CU3.
I get an alert in ManagedAvailability\Monitoring that the STARTTLS certificate will expire soon. This alert starts popping up 3 months before expiration, which would have been fine if I was able to set the "Exchange" certificate I've created as the default SMTP certificate, but in this environment all servers have an auto-enrolled computer certificate as well, which exchange insists on using as the default SMTP certificate. The computer certificates are set to auto-renew 6 weeks before expiration, so I'd like to adjust the monitoring to raise an alert when it's less than 6 weeks left, instead of when it's less than 3 months left.
I find it very difficult to find any good documentation on how to work with Managed Availability. I've figured out how to disable some annoying probes (e.g. we do not use public folders, so alerting us that there is no PF database is pretty pointless). But I haven't found a way to adjust thresholds for probes and monitors.
Also, the ProbeResult is from "Transport/STARTTLSCertificateExpiresSoon", bet there is no ProbeDefinition with that name. I can only find a monitoring definition named "HubTransport/Transport.ServerCertExpiresSoon.Monitor/HubTransport" with a SampleMask of "Transport/STARTTLSCertificateExpiresSoon" - whatever that means..
Hope anyone can help me with this!
