Hi,
I am sadly not familiar with pop3 settings in an exchange environment, so i was hoping someone could help me out a bit :)
We have a client who uses some old software that only supports sending mail thru unencrypted pop3 access. I'm assuming this means that the default port 110 and SMTP port 25 will be used. There are no options in client software to change this.
Since the client would like to use the software to connect to a certain mailbox in the Exchange environment using pop3 access, i would have to enable this on the Exchange Server. The pop3 services are running, and the users mailbox is enabled for pop access. What i am having trouble with is configuring the following settings:
-UnEncryptedorTSLSettings : 0.0.0.0:110
-InternalConnectionSettings: xxx.xxx.xx:110
-ExternalConnectionSettings: xx.xxx.xx:110
-Logintype: PlainTextLogin
Now, the -ExternalConnectionSettings is really not important since this is only going to be used internally at the clients site. Put for own testing purposes i would like to temporarily enable this.
I'm a bit of loss of what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
