We recently updated our Exchange Server to 2013. I've had a few issues with some users on a different domain than the domain the exchange server is on, connecting with the Outlook 2013 (or any other version) to the server. I get the following error.
"Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. Microsoft Excahnge in not available. Either there are network problems or the Exchange server is down for maintenance"
To give everyone and idea. We have two different domains setup in a trusted configuration. We were using linked accounts before, but they stopped working and I had to convert them to normal unlinked accounts on the Exchange Server. These users were previously able to connect ok with no problems even after the unlinking, but this just started a few days ago. The only fix I know that works is to completely blow away that user account on the local domain they connect to (not the user account on the domain the Exchange account resides on), delete the user profile from their PC, and then have them log back in and resetup Outlook. While this does fix the issue I'm trying to find out why this fixes it, and if there is something I can do on the server side that can correct this issue without me having to blow away each user and set them backup on the local domain and their PC. Anyone else experienced this problem when migrating to Exchange 2013?
