Ok, I was asked a question by an app developer to list invalid characters for smtp proxy address. OK.. yeah sure google it and look up the RFC, does anyone actually understand it? I mean good grief just simply list what's invalid, I know a space
is invalid for example. The best I could do is
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh852533.aspx , but that's not a true list. This person had and interesting article
http://haacked.com/archive/2007/08/21/i-knew-how-to-validate-an-email-address-until-i.aspx/ but when I tried to input one of his supposed valid proxy address of Abc\@def"@example.com to an exchange mailbox Exchange complained and said it's not
valid. Can anyone point me to a simple list for goodness sake of invalid characters when creating a proxy address? I would really appreciate it.
