Exchange 2013 Database and Log location

Hi,

We have Exchange 2013 with DAG all databases have 2 copies (1 Active and 1 Passive).  I have read somewhere that database and logs are need to be in different folders in DAG.  Logically I do not understand the reason.

Currently I have separate folder for every database and that folder contains ex: DB1.edb and its log files in 1 folder.  DB2.edb and its log files are in separate folder.

Do I need to put DB1.edb in a separate folder and DB1 log files in separate folder?

This is the first time we are using DAG so just wanted to confirm.
