get-messagetrackinglog - multiple results for single email

Hi,

We are getting regular MSExchangeTransport warnings about resource pressure relating to 'version buckets' around the same time someone sends a large attachment (around 40MB). We have generous sending limits at 50MB due to the nature of our work.

However, this problem appears to impact us more on Exchange 2013, than on 2010, which we have just recently migrated from.

I am running Exchange 2013 CU5 on Server 2012 fully patched on vmware 5.1 fully patched. The server supports around 50 users, has 16GB of memory, a 16GB page file and fast disk access to dedicated disks on a SAN.

I am using the get-messagetrackinglog command to find emails which are greater than a certain size and sent around the time the above error is logged. I get many results listed even though I only find one instance of an email in the users inbox or sent items. For example, one user sent a single large email, which showed up in get-messagetrackinglog around 80 times.

Why are there so many entries? Many thanks in advance for advice and comments.

PS: I'll post a separate question about the cause of the errors.
