Exchange 2013 Auto Response Exceptions

Hi,

This may have been asked before, if so, apologies, but as the posts I did find were quite old i', being optimistic that someone may have found a solution.

I currently have a couple of shared mailboxes on Exchange 2013 that multiple people access via Outlook 2010.

I need to put on an automatic response so that every email that is received gets sent the typical "thankyou for your email, it is being dealt with..." response.

Previously we have tried the following:

  1. Using the Outlook rules to reply with a specific template - due to multiple people accessing the mailbox these kept disabling.
  2. Using the Out Of Office - this had the same problems as the rules.

I have read up on the Set-MailboxAutoReplyConfiguration feature that can be used in the Exchange Powershell and have managed to use this to successfully enable the auto reply.

However, as soon as these accounts send an auto reply to another address which itself has an auto reply, the loop begins.

Is there any way to add a keyword exception to the Set-MailboxAutoReplyConfiguration feature to ignore emails with certain words in the subject/body? I have searched the net for this for hours but no luck.

Many thanks in advance.
