Generating Certifcate request always leaving internal name in request?

Hi all,

I'm generating a new certificate request to renew our SSL on our exchange 2010 machine, however i'm having some problems,  when I go to the site to put in my request and generate a certificate it tells me that i've included a non FQDN in the list. However I can't see why exchange is putting in the actual machine name instead of the FQDN in the request. When building the request i've done it both from the shell as well as the management system and each time, it includes the machine name. Is there any way I can tell it not to include this please?

  • The name entered in the CN(Common Name) field of the CSR MUST be the fully-qualified domain name for the Web site you will be using the certificate for (e.g., "www.domainnamegoeshere.com"), or a valid Intranet domain name. Do not include the "http://" or "https://" prefixes in your common name. The common name cannot include spaces. Do NOT enter your personal name in this field.

Thank you
