How to get rid of NDR sent to public folder?
Hi.
Some of our emails are sent using public folder address as sender. After migrating to Exchange 2013 this folders are flooded with NDR from non existent adressess. Is there some way to filter NDR, sent to public folders? I've tried transport rules and "folder assistant" without saccess.
Sharing Policy not working as expected
We'd like all users (including future new users) to have full read only access to everyones calendar in the organisation - not just free/busy access.
We have a default sharing policy defined here - https://*ourexchangeserver*/ecp --> Organisation --> individual sharing
This policy states:
Sharing with a specific domain - our external domain name
Specify what information you want to share:
Share your calendar folder (checked)
All calendar appointment information, including time, subject, location and title.
When I check any user's calendar permissions that have not been manually modified it shows that 'default' has 'free/busy time' and 'anonymous' has 'none'.
Does anyone know how I can achieve this?
This is an article that achieves the goal but with 2010, we're on 2013:

Exchange 2013 and Outlook 2013 Public Folders
Free/busy in Exchange 2007 co-existence
I am working on migrating users from Exchange 2007, to 2013 and have found that users with mailboxes in the new environment, are unable to view free/busy information of users with mailboxes in the old environment.
When I try, Outlook says, "No free/busy information could be retrieved" and "The recipient's server could not be contacted." Both environments are in the same AD domain. I verified that the 2007 users can still see free/busy info for 2013 users.
I found this TechNet article, and had a look at my 2007 web.config file. The directions say to find the "appSettings" section, but I only have an "<appSettings />". I was confused by the escape slash, so I tried the config file two ways.
One:
<appSettings><add key="maximumQueryIntervalDays" value="62" /><appSettings />
Two:
<appSettings /><add key="maximumQueryIntervalDays" value="62" />Of course, I restarted IIS Admin after both changes, but they didn't help. Any other ideas?
Thanks.
Distribution List - Set-Distribution Group Power Shell
Hello,
I would like to rename a multiple groups at once. Is there a power shell command that I can use? I saw this command online, but it looks like this only updates one group at a time. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124955(v=exchg.150).aspx
Set-DistributionGroup -Identity "Accounting" -DisplayName "Accounting Group"
I have about 20 groups and the first portion of their names begins with ABC_ , and I would like to change that to DEF (i.e. ABC_Helpdesk to DEF_Helpdesk...). Thank you.

OWA change password
Hi
Exchange 2010 SP3.
I tried to change the password using Outlook web Access. I am able to go to Options, Change Password, but there is only a blank page. The fields where I have to enter old and new password are invisible.

Exchange 2013: .JRS files names start with E01, .Log files names start with e00. Does it make any diff?
Hello,
I have installed Exchange 2013 SP1 standalone setup, moved Database and log to another drive, then i have checked .JRS files names start with E01 and .Log files names start with e00 (unfortunately, i didnot check after installation). how it make any difference? My Exchange server works fine, able to create new user, send/ receive E-mails.
Please help me out to understand naming convention difference i.e file name start with 'E' and 'e'. Also would like to know that, why does it happen? As i am aware that, generally both log file names start with same charector and know that 'E00' naming convention.
Thanks,
Sudhir
Probe Exception: 'Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.DumpsterOperationException: Copy to dumpster failed
I see multiple of these monitoring alerts each day. I have tried moving the mailboxes to different databases and restarting servers, but these keep happening. Different users each time but occasionally repeated. Any ideas how to correct this?

Create a folder in each user mailbox and implement a retention policy, excluding that folder.
My company is instituting an email retention policy and it was done without input from anyone technical. Here is what they want to do, they want to put a folder in every user's mailbox called Archive (but this is not an Exchange Archive folder). Then they want email that the user places in that folder to never be purged. They want all other email (any other folders besides "Archive" in the mail box) to be deleted after 24 months.
I have been searching for a week to find a way to do this, but haven't come up with anything.
Edit Password policy
Hello,
This question is about exchange 2010 SP3. Sorry I couldn't put it in a forum under that section but there isn't one!
I'm reviewing the password policy on the domain and I want to force users to change passwords every so many days. The problem is that I have some remote users who only connect via a VPN or just use Outlook over proxy for access to email - they have no workstation. So when the password change becomes due they have nowhere to apply that change.
I can tell them to login to OWA but this has no password change option either and I can find no information on how to get OWA to ask for a password change at login in the same way as a workstation. I understand it is possible or if it isn't then it is possible to put a password change option on the OWA login which would accomplish the same thing.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks
Exchange 2013: HTTP 500 error on https://xxx/ews
We are running an Exchange 2013 server with CU9. When I access https://xxx/ews, it returns a HTTP 500. https://xxx/ews/services.wsdl returns the WSDL.
In the eventvwr I find at the same time as the HTTP 500 errors such as (Event ID 3003):
Protocol /EWS failed to perform token rehydration because source identity DOMAINNAME\USERNAME does not have token serialization permission.
and Event ID 3002:
Protocol /EWS failed to process request from identity DOMAINNAME\USERNAME. Exception: Microsoft.Exchange.Security.Authentication.BackendRehydrationException: Rehydration failed. Reason: Source server 'DOMAINNAME\USERNAME' does not have token serialization
permission.

at Microsoft.Exchange.Security.Authentication.BackendRehydrationModule.ProcessRequest(HttpContext httpContext)
at Microsoft.Exchange.Security.Authentication.BackendRehydrationModule.OnAuthenticateRequest(Object source, EventArgs args).
Depending on the user previously authorised in /owa, you will get different usernames. The users are not a member direct or indirect of a group like Domain Admins.
OWA works fine. But the following returns a failure:
Source ServiceEndpoint Scenario Result Latency
(MS)
------ --------------- -------- ------ -------
ws131.IVE.LOCAL ws131.ive.local Autodiscover: SOAP Provider Failure 49
ws131.IVE.LOCAL ws131.ive.local EWS: GetFolder Failure 2
How can I analyse / solve this problem? We would like to use /ews to develop Office Add-ins, but that is not possible now.
Problem deleting mailbox database
Hello,
I try to remove an empty mailbox database, I verified and there are no any user, archive or user mailbox in it. However, exchange still repots that it is not empty.
How can I delete it? Thank you.

Disk space utilization too fast
Dear All,
I am running Exchange 2013 on two Servers. One is CAS and other is Mailbox server and both servers have different partitions. On mailbox server OS installed on has C drive, D drive has mailbox and E has logs files. I noticed that on C drive disk space is reducing too quickly that has 150 GB space which is now 20 GB remaining. I would like to know which services or logs are increasing on C drive that are utilizing too fast.
Any idea how to remove the old logs files to increase the drive space.
Thanks
Exchange 2013 RBAC
Hi,
Im not sure if this is the correct forum for this. If not, my apologies.
I am setting RBAC for our branch admins, as requirement:
1. They should not be able to add new user mailbox (and linked mailbox).
2. Should be able to add new resources and Shared mailbox.
So far I am successful remove the "+" sign under recipients->mailboxes, however, resources and shared are also gone! I understand that "+" sign for these 3 are using new-mailbox.
I know how to remove a Parameter using Set-ManagementRoleEntry using -RemoveParameter. But my problem is I can't distinguish a user mailbox from resources (-rooms, -equipment) and shared mailbox (-shared).
Please help. Thanks in advance.
How to Install Exchange 2010 coexisting with Exchange 2013
Hi!
I need to restore an exchange 2010 database that was backed up with Arcserve Exchange Backup Agent.
We don´t have exchange 2010 anymore, only Exchange 2013.
Arcserve Exchange Agent doesn´t support restoring exchange 2010 database into exchange 2013 server.
They proposed me to install a separated environment, with active directory with the same domain name and exchange 2010 mbx server, to proceed with this restore, sou I can connect and extract pst from the database.
If I knew that before migration to exchange 2013, I would not have uninstalled exchange 2010 mbx server.
Why I cannot reinstall Exchange 2010 now, in coexistence with Exchange 2013?
Thanks in advance.
Allow Bare linefeeds to be journaled
We are receiving the following error when messages with 'bare linefeeds' try to get delivered to out journaling mailbox.
400 4.4.7 The server responded with:550 5.6.2 SMTPSEND.BareLineFeedsAreIllegal; message contains bare linefeeds, which cannot be sent via DATA. The failure was replaced by a retry...
It seems that these messages aren't making it to the Journaling mailbox. Any way to get these delivered?
