we have exchange 2007 and 2013 coexistence. we have created a new url for 2007 legacy servers. Now, when using OWA url (now set for exchange 2013 server) i am getting OWA exchange 2007 login page for exchange 2007 mailboxs.
I was expecting exchange 2013 OWA page and then redirection to OWA 2007.

We have Exchange2010 with 3 CAS/Hub servers and 3 mailbox servers in a DAG - all are VMWare VMs. One of the mailbox servers just has some passive copies; two of the mailbox servers have active and passive copies and do the backups. We use EMC Networker 8.1 with the Networker Module for Microsoft Applications for backups. Those backups run successfully most of the time.
I'm experiencing the following issue:
Occasionally, the backups fail, and the next morning the system logs on the mailbox servers have cluster related errors. Also, VSSadmin shows the Exchange writer in a retryable error state. The backups will continue to fail until the writers are reset with a reboot.
This morning, the backup did NOT fail, but there were cluster related errors, causing me to check the writers on the mailbox servers. They were again in the error state.
The event logs point to a network error, but I assume the failure of the cluster could be related to unresponsive machines. I've asked our infrastructure team to investigate, and they have found no indication of a problem at the network, vm, or storage level.
Has anyone seen this, or could point me to diagnostic information?

we suffer a really strange problem on our exchange/Outlook Environment.
Users which are using two or more Mailaccounts are loosing the Cache Mode after a timerange
of 2-4 days, on the additional mailboxes.
This can be seen in the Outlook Connection Status, where the Linktype is not cache any more,
as well as there's a globe symbol in the outlook status bar instead of "Connected with MS Exchange"
Next, a strange beheaviour follows: Search is not working anymore, eMail Adress search/lookup is not working anymore, but the most nasty thing is, that the "sending in the name of" feature ist not working on additional mailboxes.
The eMails are all rolled out on the default account, instead of the account which is selected.
If someone selects in the FROM field the different account, it is sent from the additional account, but won't move out of the "sending folder"
Only solution right now is to delete and reapply the whole profile. Strange thing is, that it is working then again for 2-4 days and then the cache file is missing again.
Autodiscover Connection Test runs fine.
What the hell is here wrong!?!? I really need and experts help.

After installing Exchange 2013 SP1 I have noticed a strange behavior.
When using new-publicfoldermoverequest, the moved items remain in the source mailbox.
Here are the get-publicfolderstatistic before and after moving a folder between pfbox1 and pfbox2, which are two public folder mailboxes.

The property DeletedItemCount is 0 for both mailboxes.
So now data is stored in two public folder mailboxes, and I worry that it will cause problems.
I am honestly not sure if this problem existed before SP1, as I have just noticed it.
Does anybody else have this problem, and what can I do to resolve this problem?

Is see from the thread "Notify user when appointment added or edited in shared calendar" that this not be consider as best practice. Any way it is an request from my Managing Director, and therefore the solution has to be implemented.
So, I will ask for guidance to how I can implement "Automatic notification when a appointment in shared calendar is being update, added or deleted." We are running Exchange 2010 with Office 2007 clients.
Prefer a solution where I can use EMC, not so comfortable using EMS (Exchange Management Shell).
Looking forward for a solution.

I just finished my Exchange migration from 2007 to 2013 I had some issues and still working through some, but I've never seen this before. On some mailboxes, exchange increased the storage limit on it's own. I don't know why or how, but this is a problem, because my mailbox database size doubled from 2007 to 2013. For example, on my own mailbox size, it was set to 5GB when in exchange 2007, but now, it's 35.15GB and I have never increased it to that amount.
I have attached a picture for clarification purposes. What do I do to make sure this doesn't happen again, and is there a powershell command I can run that shows me all users and their mailbox size limit, so I can go and reduce the size?

Running Exchange 2013 CU2 w/ Active Directory at 2008 functional level. Have deleted mailbox retention time set to 30 days. 10 days ago, we deleted 3 former executive accounts through AD Users and Computers. Now the powers that be would like to recover the mailboxes to retrieve some old emails. Trying to restore the mailboxes using this information http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj863438(v=exchg.150).aspx, but the mailboxes are not showing up as disabled or detached. There are other mailboxes listed that were deleted at various times before and after these 3, but I do not know how they were deleted.
Should a mailbox deleted from AD Users & Computers be recoverable, or will the system hard delete the mailbox? Is there a setting to change this behavior? I do have backups and can restore via recovery database, but It would be much less time consuming to be able to reattach the mailbox.

I want to use Exchange Shell to create a set of subfolders in user's mailbox but not working.

My user account is on the OU like mycompany.local\Branch 1\user
it always says, the specified mailbox does not exist whenever I run the syntax with my administrator logon on the Exchange server.
But, I can create the subfolder to the administrator account mailbox when I logon to Administrator account.
I can use this command to list the existing folder in user mailbox.
Get-MailboxFolderStatistics-Identity user | ft Name,FolderPath
I recently ran a recovery for Deleted Items of a departed employee using the Recover Deleted Items function of OWA (I'm running Exchange 2010 SP1 on a single server). The recovery appeared to work BUT the recovered emails do not appear in the Deleted Items folder of the user's account. The mailbox properties on Exchange show 65,000 items but there are 20 items showing in the Deleted Items folder both on OWA and an Outlook 2010 client. Using -getmailboxstatistics on Exchange shows the TotalDeletedItemSize to be 3.654GB of a 3.94GB total, meaning the items are there but, again, I can't see them at all.
Does anyone have any advice?

On 2/19 I installed RU4 for Exchange 2010 SP3 on a server at a client's site. This is a single server with all the roles on it, with about 40-45 mailboxes. Ever since then, during the busiest hours of the day (around 7AM to 5:30PM or so), I get the following event log error on this server:

The frequency of these errors varies and it definitely seems to be related to the amount of traffic. Over the weekend it only occured about 5-10 times a day. For the past couple of days, it's been pretty constant about every 15 minutes or so all day.
I've looked this up, but I've only found a few posts mentioning similar errors, all relating to earlier versions of Exchange 2010. Supposedly this problem was fixed in one of the rollups to SP1 or SP2, I think. I never saw these errors, though, until the SP3 RU4 rollup. I haven't heard any complaints from users, but I'm concerned that this might escalate and start causing noticeable searching issues.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I had some warnings like:
Ping of mdb '58ae7a7e-2fee-4173-a564-28c26d764465' timed out after '00:00:00' minutes. Last successful ping was at '2014-03-03 04:56:17' UTC.
So trying to fix it I decided to remove two monitoring mailboxes and recreate it by setup /preparead. After that I've been receiving many errors and warnings like:

The mailbox had been recreated, but it had other guid in user name and alias. Even after I changed that guid, it didn't help. Restarting services also didn't help. What I should do next? Once again delete all of them and preparead?

After migrating, i am unable to edit the properties of the migrated public folders through Exchange Admin Center
Googled and then ran Get-publicFolder -Recurse | Get-PublicFolderClientPermission | Where {$_.User -like "NT*"} | remove-publicfolderclientpermission
Then forced the AD replication
I have 6 PF mailboxes
Still i am unable to edit permissions of 70% of the public Folders
Getting 500 unexpected error
I force AD replication, still no go
nothing different a working and non-working public folder
Any constructive ideas?

Recently I went to http://www.mailradar.com/openrelay/ and failed three tests. These tests try "manual" routing and my server accepted and relayed three of them as described below in the test results. How do I prevent my exchange server from relaying addresses in these forms?
