I have two exchange servers a physical 2010 (Version 14.3 build 123.4) server and VMware esx 6.0 virtual 2013 (Version 15.0 Build 1130.7) server.
I am in the process of migrating users; however, I keep running into issues.
When I bulk move users it looks like things are going fine ( in run Get-moverequest|get-moverequeststatistics and keep a close eye on it) then the database the users are being moved to dismounts, the job stalls and if your current mailbox happens to be on that you are disconnected from exchange.
I get this warning
The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service was unable to save changes to request.

Then I get this error
At '12/13/2015 11:22:29 AM' the copy of database 'IT_MS' on this server was unexpectedly dismounted. The error returned by failover was "There is only one copy of this mailbox database (IT_MS). Automatic recovery is not available.". For more specific information about the failures, consult the event log on the server for other "ExchangeStoreDb" events.
If I just migrate one mailbox, often the mailbox goes into quarantine.
Mail on both servers seems to work just fine. Not sure what the issue is between them.
Any ideas?
Hi
Is it possible to change default number of "items per page" in "Exchange admin center" (Exchange 2013)
Kind regards

I am hoping to get a better understanding of what is in the database, or what is taking up the space. Basically, we have several databases with a lot of white space and are running out of disk space. To solve this, I migrated all of the mailboxes from the first database, dismounted it, and defragged it using eseutil. After the defrag process completed, the database, which as far as I know is empty, is still 80+ GB. It now shows only a couple hundred MB of white space, so what in the world is taking up 80+ GB? Is there a way I can determine what is in the database? I've run Get-Mailbox -Database <DbName> and nothing is returned. I've also run Get-MailboxDatabase <DbName> | Get-Mailbox, which returns nothing. I've also used the -Archive switch to return archive mailboxes and nothing shows up. I'm tempted to just delete the database and create a new one, but I have no idea what is taking up the 80+ GB, so I don't want to delete data without knowing what it is.
This is on an Exchange 2013 CU 10 mailbox server running on Server 2008 R2 Enterprise.
I am stuck in this issue for long, would really appreciate if anyone can help !!!
So I have a MVC web application which talks to Web API which calls powershell script.
I am using Visual studio 2013
Windows 7 64 bit OS
Exchange server 2010 SP3
Problem -
When ever my application invokes powershell script, it does add entry in AD ( as needed) but just after that when it comes back to application it throws exception -
Exception: System.TypeInitializationException
Message: The type initializer for 'Microsoft.Exchange.Diagnostics.DiagnosticTraceLogging' threw an exception.
The same setup in in another server and works but its not working in my local IIS. I need it to work in order to debug my application, have tried many suggestions gieven by the forums but couldnt find the answer.
Would really appreciate any suggestions !! Thanks in advance.

Greetings,
We are having some issues with spoofing. We are getting emails from pranksters that are spoofing the from address to look like our domain. It's making it look quite legit as our Exchange server is in fact believe it, adding the person it is supposedly from's picture AND signature to the email coming in.
We are trying to stop this.
I have read several articles that mention special rules in 2007 and other. What I cannot seem to find is a decent way to stop it in 2013.
What we would like to do is this. Example: our domain is abcdomain.com. If a message arrives at our exchange server from ANYONE internal/external that says it's coming from abcdomain.com we want to it only accept/send the message on to the recipient on our domain if it's coming from someone authenticated from abcdomain.com
Does this make sense?
If that's not the best way, let me know another, please!
Greetings Everyone,
I am running an Exchange server 2013 RTM on a Windows Server 2012. There are three databases and all of them are in a "Failed" state. I have tried all the recommendations I could find. There is no DAG configured in my case.
The databases are on two separate volumes, one has 20GB free and the other 150GB.
I have uninstalled the anti-virus just in case.
I have stopped:
Microsoft Exchange Search Host Controller
Microsoft Exchange Search
Deleted the index containing folder, started the services again and from "Failed", ContentIndexState went to "Healthy" in less than a minute. It did not even go through the crawling state. After another minute it went back to "Failed"
state. Every now and then I check what the state of the Indexing is and it seem to switch between "Failed" and "Healthy" every 5 minutes or so.
Performance monitor does not show any activity on the "Crawler - Mailboxes Remaining" counter.
I have tried to add the "ContentSubmitters" group, but apparently someone has already did that. I deleted it anyway and re-created it, giving the mentioned privileges to Administrators and NetworkService. As expected, nothing changed.
I also tried dismounting and re-mounting the databases. There are no entries in the Event Log other than the standard ones indicating indexing problem. I will add them to the end of this post.
Initially, there were also problems with the DFS Replication:
"The DFS Replication service stopped replication on volume C:. This occurs when a DFSR JET database is not shut down cleanly and Auto Recovery is disabled."
I have fixed this and many of the warnings and errors stopped appearing in the Event Log. This seem to be the only thing left to be fixed aside from updating Exchange to CU11. Would it be a good idea at all to update exchange before fixing the indexing issue?
Could that be some sort of corruption in the databases? All of them are mounting fine. Please let me know if you have any recommendations as to what more can be done to pinpoint the cause of this.
Here are the messages from the log:

Is there any way to disable the hyperlinks for all inbound emails (sent from outside network)?
I have read about converting HTML to Richtext, but it may not help us. I'm not sure if there is any GPO or Macro or an exchange feature that will help.
NB: We are using Exchange 2010 Sp3 (running on latest build)

This is probably an oldie...
Obviously Exchange 2007 PowerShell remoting is not supported by MS and isn't available using PowerShell sessions and Invoke-Command in this scenario due to the 'double hop' issue.
However I have a requirement to use the Get-MailboxDatabase and Get-MailboxStatistics cmdlets remotely.
The scenario is thus:
Computer A (client) has the Exchange 2007 Shell installed
Computer B (Server) has Exchange 2007 installed
I need to be able to run these commands on computer A to return information.
I can merrily create and update mailboxes from Computer A simply by using:
Get-User -identity $upn -credential $creds -domain controller $dc ¦ Enable-Mailbox -database $db
As the piping allows me to use a the "get" cmdlet to setup credentials for the remaining parts of the command. However the Get-MailboxDatabase and Get-MailboxStatistics cmdlets don't have a -credential parameter.
Without using new-pssession I need to be able to use these commands with also using credentials other than those I'm logged into Computer A with.
Anyone come across a way of doing this?
Hi
I've created Group Managed Service Account(SMEX12\SMEX12Test$) on my AD, and I only have 1 AD machine(ex2016ad.smex12.com).

Hi,
I am new to Powershell and was just wondering if it is possible to do the following:
Below is what i have so far and works if the list of users is in the format "Ryan Hindley"
$mailbox = get-content C:\Users\Ryan.hindley_adm\Desktop.\users1.txt
$output = "C:\Users\Ryan.hindley_adm\Desktop.\users2.txt"
{$mailbox.primarySmtpAddress}
foreach ($mbx in $mailbox)
{
$smtp = (get-mailbox $mbx).primarysmtpaddress.tostring()
write-host -ForegroundColor green $smtp
add-content $output $smtp
}
Thanks in advanced
Hi all,
I manage a 2-servers DAG recently migrated from 2010 into 2013.
Each database is growing at a rate that I have not seen when it was on 2010. The DB's are growing at 5GB a week.
- The log files are OK. Backups are running OK and truncating them.
- Mailbox quotas are being enforced.
- Retention periods are similar to 2010
- In average, for each DB the sum of each individual mailbox plus the DB whitespace is strangely less than the whole DB size. I have a 215GB MBX DB size which contains 80GB in mailbox size + 10GB of whitespace. This does not make sense.
I can foresee issues in drive space in the next weeks so
Could you please point me to the right direction as to where do I have to look for toroubleshooting?
Thanks.
We are running Exchange 2007 SP3. And we need to obtain a report on how many users have read an e-mail we`re going to sent to various users in the company. How can i obtain such report?.
Thanks.
Hi,
We have 3 Client access servers which from what I have been reading should be stateless. However I have had some problems when patching and rebooting these severs whereby users get disconnected and cannot reconnect. (Rebooting the servers one at a time of course)
Can someone please advise if there is a way to put these servers into maintenance mode so they can drain before we reboot them?
Thanks in advance :)
Hi,
When creating new users, we seem to be unable to access their mailbox without removing the account and readding it via delegation full access.
When the account is created, it comes with the global admin account in the full access field.
Then when trying to access a persons' mail box, it comes up with the error that you don't have permission to open the mailbox.
X-OWA-Error: Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ConnectionFailedTransientException X-OWA-Version: 15.0.1044.25
It becomes a pain having to remove the admin account from full access, wait 5 minutes, readd it, wait 5 minutes and then eventually able to get into the mailbox.
Is there any cause or fix for this please?
