Dear Members,
I faced with a strange (at least for me) problem regarding EmailAddressPolicy.
If I list the policies I get back the list:
[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-EmailAddressPolicy
Name Priority RecipientFilter
---- -------- ---------------
Default Policy Lowest Alias -ne $null
Custom - EAP 1 ((CustomAttribute1 -eq 'Custom...
But if I try to use the same command with -Identity:
[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-EmailAddressPolicy -Identity 'Custom - EAP'
The operation couldn't be performed because object 'Custom - EAP' couldn't be found on 'AD01'.
+ CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [Get-EmailAddressPolicy], ManagementObjectNotFoundException

Any idea what's wrong?

One of our customers Exchange databases (running 2013 Standard edition) hit 1TB earlier in the year and dismounted. We added the "Database Size Limit in GB" registry key fromhttps://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3059008 and all was well again.
Thinking ahead we added the same registry key for their other databases so that they wouldn't dismount if they hit 1TB. However the next database that hit 1TB appears to have wiped the registry key and needed it re-adding. (we verified that the registry key had been set correctly originally and the other database over 1TB was fine)
Is this a feature that the registry key needs adding after the database goes over 1TB?

Looking for a little assistance on figuring out how to fix our Exchange 2013. Currently our Exchange 2013 server is running on a Windows 2012 R2 server and is functioning correctly(email is flowing correctly don't appear to be getting any event log errors referencing the exchange server. But our monitoring and checking the performance monitoring it appears that there may be an issue with the database cache/database or something. While monitoring the Exchange server the Database Cache percent hit continues to report 0% and then ever so often reports 100%, but doesn't report normally in the 90's.
I understand what the Database Cache percent hit is reporting but want to see what can be done to fix/resolve the issue.
Hi, hoping someone can shed some light on an issue I have when trying to restore a mailbox database into the recovery database.. I've created the recovery database and mounted it okay. I'm using backup exec 2014 to recover a database into the recovery database but it fails as the database flag "this database can be overwritten by a restore" hasn't been set. I'm unable to see the recovery database in the exchange admin center and can't see the option using "get-mailboxdatabase [dbname] | fl
Any suggestions welcome!
Hello, we have a 2012 R2 server with Exchange 2010 standard and 32GB of memory. The store.exe uses over 16GB of ram. At the end of the day, when all users are gone and disconnected from Exchange the usage stays the same. Why will it not reduce down? After restarting the information store services the memory allocated is on 175mb. Is this expected? Any feedback appreciated.
Thank you
What I thought would be a relatively simple process is turning out to be not so easy. We have a large number of created contacts, with assigned external email addresses. However, when I select an internal mailbox, go to mail flow, and try to forward the email to any contact, none of them show up. Only internal users show up in the selection list. I can manage these with our Exchange 2007 server, but our 2013 server seems inacapable of listing anything other than internal users.
Is there something disabled or turned off, which prohibits the use of contacts?
how to move multiple DLs Organization Unit through powershell.

Hi
I'm migrating from lotus notes to exchange 2013 unfortunately when converted emails from lotus to pst and imported into exchange I realized later that a lot of replica folders with similar content were present in users mailboxes hence this impacted a lot on the growth of edb[database]
Problem
I have delegated access- full logged into user mailbox deleted the folders and the content . infact on mailbox usage on the mailbox properties I see markable reduction of the size of the mailbox however all this does not replicate to the database size the space it occupies on the disk /drive.
I have deleted and emptied the deleted folders and set the default retention to 0 days.
But no change

Hello Guys,
I need some help, this week I was informed of a problem in sending emails.
All messages were sending time wrong. I noticed that when I change the GTM time for server sending the messages is also amended to correct the problem briefly left the GMT of California.
I'm on GMT-03; 00 and need to fix this problem as soon as possible, but couldn't find any documentation on this issue.
My server is W2k3 R2 and Exchange 2007 SP3.
thanks for help.
A couple of notes:
1.) This 'Spam Mail' folder is on the users' OWA interface as well as the local Outlook 2013 installation.
2.) I have tried Outlook 2013 on multiple PC's, and the Spam Mail folder appears, it's something with their e-mail account in Exchange.
3.) This 'Spam Mail' folder also appears in their Outlook Web Access display, so it is NOT a localized PC issue.
4.) We are using Exchange 2013, not Office365
5.) Setting up any settings for 'Junk E-Mail Options' does not have any effect.
6.) I uninstalled the AntispamAgents with the scripts from the Exchange Management Shell, and it has had no effect.
7.) There is no 3rd party software (that I can see in App List, Services, or running tasks/processes) running on the Exchange server. Again, this is not a local PC issue, since it comes up in OWA, and Outlook 2013 installations on other PC's.
If anyone has any information as to why this is appearing and how to get it to stop/turn off/etc. it would be most appreciated.
As many others, I was seeing the C:\Program files\Microsoft\Exchange\V15\Logging folder constantly eating up drive space. Here is what I did to move them to another drive/mount point:

Hey All,
I have an internal domain company.com and have setup SPF records both internally and externally which I have checked to be working correctly and visible to the Exchange servers using nslookup. I have enabled sender ID filtering and upon testing by spoofing an email from another company with a valid SPF that spoofed email goes into the Junk folder in OWA.
When I test with a spoofed email using the companies own domain it doesn't get moved to Junk so it appears that it is not being checked. I looked into the settings of Sender Id Filtering and I think I need to set InternalMailEnabled to True for it to check the domains it's authoritative for but I can find very little info on this setting and was wondering if this is the correct thing to do and what other consequences it may have. Can anyone elaborate on exactly what this setting does or provide a link to some documentation?
I have a user who has the ability to perform mailbox searches against a particular OU.
He can do the search and export to pst, but when he tries to preview the results, he sees the list of emails on the left, and selects any of them to display contents on the right, but all he gets is "Error: Your request can't be completed right now. Please try again later."
We grant these users mailbox search permissions by the following (left over instructions from when we were on Exchange Server 2010)
Create a new Universal Security group under contoso.com\Microsoft Exchange Security Groups. Use the naming convention of “Group Discovery Management”
Create a new management role assignment from an Exchange Management Shell session:
New-ManagementRoleAssignment -Name "Mailbox Search-Group Discovery Management" -SecurityGroup "Group Discovery Management" -RecipientOrganizationalUnitScope "contoso.com/HR" -Role "Mailbox Search"
Create the Discovery Search Results mailbox.
Mail-Enable the security group created in Step 1
Set the mailbox permissions on the Discovery mailbox so that members of the security group have FullAccess rights.
I added the user to the group from step one, and he can perform the search just fine fromhttps://webmail.contoso.com/ecp as mentioned, and can export to pst, but cannot preview.
Thinking I may have missed something, I added myself to the group and can preview the results.
I had him login to the EAC from my workstation, and he still cannot preview the results.
What am I missing?
Thanks
Karl

Hi- I have a new installation running on Hyper-V guests (3 servers, all roles on all servers). After the initial install I created a new DB on server Exch01. I want to delete the default DB but cannot on account of there being hidden mailboxes still in the DB. Using the standard "Get-Mailbox -Database <Database ID>" shows no results. Nor do the other Get- cmdlets
I found a post where the person used "Get-MailboxStatistics -Database "Database ID" | fl DisplayName,MailboxGuid,Database,DisconnectReason"
That did work and it lists all of the mailboxes still in the DB. I disabled the HealthMailboxes, but can't find the right syntax to disable the ones showing as "In-Place Archive". And there are 3 other ones (SystemMailbox, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Exchange Migration) that I'm not sure what to do with. Here is the output of the cmdlet:

I was looking at my servers health and noticed that HubTransport\Total.Shadow.Queue.Length.Above.Threshold.Monitor was reported as Unhealthy. I used Performance Monitor to look at the queue level and see it go from 1 or 2 to extremely high at roughly 2 minute intervals.
I have one Exchange 2007 server and 2 2013 servers. I am in the process of migrating to 2013 and have only one mailbox on the 2013 side. The 2013 server with the DBs mounted is having the spikes. The other 2013 server hovers around 0-3.
Is the queue really getting that high or is it being displayed/calculated wrong?
Hi. I have two notifications /alerts in ECP stating that two certificates are expired. The problem is that the message tells me they are expired on a server that is no longer existing in the domain. The exchangeserver was decomissioned in October and I did not bother to update the certificates before I did that. It's been almost 3 months now, and the notifications are still there.
Running "Get-Notification" shows the two notifications, and "Get-Mailbox -Arbitration | Start-ManagedFolderAssistant -Verbose" does nothing.
Searching forums I found several questions regarding this, but no solution except the one above that did not work for me.
Anybody got a solution for this?
Running Exchange Server 2013 CU10.
